The “ISOBUS” is a general denomination of a STANDARD communication protocol that were developed and implemented in order to CREATE compatibility between tractors, terminals (computers) and implements like sprayers, fertilizers, seeders of different manufacturers. Is it only for a new tractors/implements or for “old” (5 - 15 years) also?
It could be installed in any tractor or sprayer to independently of the age of machine.
Is it possible to equip non-isobus tractor/implement with ISOBUS technology?
Yes, it could be acquired separately as “RETROFIT / UPGRADE” equipment from tractor/implement manufacturer or from specialized ISOBUS technology manufacturers as Cojali.
Does every new tractor and/or implement goes already equipped with ISOBUS?
Not always. In major cases manufacturers offer this technology as an “optional”. Customers can obtain it via order as an option when they purchase a NEW tractor/implement.
